VIVION S.A. is an international company based in Uruguay and subsidiaries in Latin America, dedicated to the development, manufacture and marketing of home automation (domotics / inmotics), Conatel electrical materials and lighting.
Its brand CONATEL is internationally recognized for its design and quality.
The origin of VIVION goes back to the moment CONATEL SA was set up in 1936, and when the manufacture of electrical materials began in this company, in 1945. As from 2009, former Electrical Materials Division of CONATEL S.A. has become a fully autonomous company which received the legacy of values, expertise and technology from its preceding company as well as its prestigious brand.
The history of VIVION S.A. goes back to the Electrical Materials Division of CONATEL S.A., a company with more than 75 years in the market and highly experienced in the development, manufacture and commercializacion of electrical materials..
On Octuber 1st 1936, "Compañía Nacional de Teléfonos (CONATEL)" / National Telephone Company / is founded with a view to participing in the development of the telephone market, which was in its early stages in Uruguay.
In 1945, the manufacture of electrical materials for civil installation (conductors, sockets, plugs, lampholders, etc.) began.
Major investments are made as a result of an agreement made with AVE of Italy, in order to design and manufacture electrical materials for civil installations. Also, agreements are made with Siemens AG and others to supply new markets with electrical materials.
CONATEL is given important quality certifications on its products (UNIT-1995 , IRAM-1998, UCIEE-1998; Ursea-2003) and on its management system (UNIT y AENOR-2002). CONATEL keeps abreast of the latest developments in the industry. At the same time, the company encourages the development of new products and obtains several international patents. This rapidly leads to market penetration in more than 20 countries and new branch in Paraguay.
VIVION S.A.: The Electrical Material Division spun off from CONATEL S.A. and became an independent company, whose objective is to consolidate its steady growing trend by the development of a personalized strategy.
VIVION has created two important new business areas: Home Automation (domotics / inmotics) and Lighting, attending the needs of a market that demands energetically efficient and reliable solutions, security and comfort, with environmentally friendly products.
